Cast & Crew
The Narrator/The Engineer – Harlow J Keith Harlow Keith is the President of the Board of Trustees for the Rosebriar Shakepeare Company. and has performed for Rosebriar in Richard III, King Lear, Macbeth, Merchant of Venice, Twelfth Night, Hamlet and Much Ado About Nothing among other productions. He is an Executive Producer for the Cinema Lexzikon feature film, Demons Rising and Harlow is also an Executive Producer for the Rio Films nature documentary Channel Islands-A California Adventure
The Sound Effects Performer – Daniel Patrick Smail Daniel has been in over 60 or more plays since he was 5 years old, this is his 11th show with Rosebriar, he is very happy to be doing this show with some of his fellow cast members that he has had the pleasure working with, such as Kirsten Upchurch, Stephan Hanna and Harlow Keith. Daniel was last seen doing a musical version of It's A Wonderful Life as Harry. "I personally hope that you, the audience enjoy, laugh and are scared at the same time, but most importantly, enjoy the show."
The Diva – Mony Carpenter I want you all to know this is one mis-understood character! Really! She just doesn’t know how to express her enduring affection for her deeply flawed co-workers that she keeps trying to fix in spite of themselves. Oh, wait. Maybe she is a teensy bit judgmental... Thanks to the cast and crew for all you do and allowing me to be part of the ensemble. That’s the magic of theatre. Mony’s background includes summer stock, classical mime studies in Paris, puppet theatre, and radio work at WRMU-FM. Central Ohio audiences have had the opportunity to see Mony play with multiple companies, including Actor’s Summer Theatre, Bread & Circus Theatre, GrandParent’s Living Theatre, Reality Theatre, Westerville Curtain Players, Worthington Community Theatre, Little Theatre On Broadway, and Zanesville Community Theatre. Mony has been with Rosebriar Shakespeare Company long enough to know better, but she keeps coming back to play.
The Divo – Garison Wills After attending BC, BCC, MC, ADA, SVA, FIT, this former NFL member ("I started out very young") is very happy to return to the boards after a long absence. His background includes musical theatre, radio performance, stage battle and Garison hopes to one day fulfill his fantasy of appearing on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera. He is currently planning to return to New York in the hopefully near future, and take the backstage tour. Besides endeavors in Advertising (the land of artists with dubious outlets,) Garison is also well-versed in the Decorative Arts, working under his eponymous nom du monde. He may currently be seen at the Worthington Inn in, in, in...sorry, his recurring role as entertainment servant.* He would like to dedicate this performance to all his hours of watching sitcom reruns; if he can do, oh say, between 22 - 34% of what Kelsy Grammer can do with his voice, he'll be very happy, indeed!
*Steve Martin: "The service here is fabulous!"
The Ingenue – Stephanie Hayslip This is Stephanie's second opportunity with Rosebriar, having played Mistress Page in The Merry Wives Of Windsor last spring. She is very excited to be working with this company again and hopes to continue a relationship with them for many seasons to come. An AMDA graduate, she has decided that there is no place like home after doing tours and various theatre around the country and cannot wait to perform for you all. She would like to thank her baby, her parents, and her cheerleaders, for which the life she leads now would have never been possible.
The Janitor – Melinda Anderson Melinda Anderson is a classically trained vocalist who sings with the First Congregational Church, downtown, Columbus. She has an abiding interest in historical theater costuming and as board president of Rosebriar she created wardrobes spanning four centuries for their 2006-2007 season. Recently invited to join the prestigious National League of American Penwomen, Mrs. Anderson continues to explore her love of fabric and paper. Her art dolls, costumes and stationary are theatrical and romantic. Her family provides her best inspiration, and she is devoted to their care.
The Writer – Kirsten Upchurch Kirsten Upchurch, a native of the Columbus area is proud to be a part of this one of a kind production. Having acquired her degrees in Theatre Performance (M.F.A from Florida Atlantic University, and B.F.A. from Texas Christian) Kirsten has worked with several regional professional companies, and has taught acting at the collegiate level. Kirsten has been seen locally in Rosebriar Productions as Kate in Taming of the Shrew, and Lady MacDuff in MacBeth, and also with Bread & Circus Theatre as Jo in Little Women. Kirsten is the current Artistic Director of Rosebriar Shakespeare Company.
The Pianist/Director - Stehen Hanna Stephen is flabbergasted at the talent and dedication of the cast and crew of “Poe” and would like to thank each and every single one of them from the bottom of his heart. Stephen has worked on and off with Rosebriar since 1994, appearing as a very scene chewing sargeant in Macbeth. He has since played one of his dream roles (Michael Cassio) in Othello, as well as Mistress Ford in Merry Wives of Windsor. Other credits include Trinculo in The Tempest and Ursala in Two Gentlemen of Verona with Actors’ Theatre. He’d like to thank his family and friends, but especially Jayson for his amazing focus and Kirstin for her calming guidance during his directorial debut.
Stage manager - Jayson Hummel This is Jayson’s return to theater after a break of five years. Having managed multiple plays including Dante’s Inferno, Taming of the Shrew: Not Your Ordinary Shakespeare, and Okalahoma he is eager to rejoin the arts community. With two years managing and an additional two years directing experience for the play group Chaos Inc., he joins Rosebriar for the creation of a new and haunting production. Thanks to the cast and crew for making this return as painless a possible and to Stephen for your vision of creative pudding! Mmmm pudding!
